What is it and what is it for? General characteristics. How can I access it?
RECIN is an online platform designed to quickly and easily assess the level of cybersecurity in your industrial projects from the design stage. It’s based on the concept of zones and conduits and applies the criteria defined in the ISO IEC 62443-3-3 standard.
With just a few minutes of dedication, you can include information on facilities, zones, conduits, and components for each case, and you’ll immediately have an architectural map that complies with the standard.
Each zone and duct can also include criticality definitions in terms of impact, confidentiality, and availability, and you can change the map views based on these levels.
With RECIN, you can quickly obtain a report on your project, including all the cybersecurity requirements established in the ISA IEC 62443-3-3 standard. You can view it either in the zones and conduits view or in the fundamental requirements view. It will also allow you to locate service and solution providers who can help implement the necessary improvements to your project.
To access RECIN, you must be a member of the Industrial Cybersecurity Center. Any membership will allow you to access the platform, and then, depending on your membership level, you will be able to perform more or fewer activities. Once you have obtained membership and accessed the Knowledge Platform, you will be able to access RECIN. If you have never accessed the Knowledge Platform, your user account will not be able to access RECIN, as you must first accept the account terms and conditions.
When you enter RECIN, the first thing you’ll see is the central panel. From this view, you’ll be able to see a list of all your projects, create new ones, view public projects shared by other users, see how many projects you’ve created and how many you have left, and, above all, you’ll be able to access your projects to perform various actions, such as:
- Edit an existing project to add components, zones, or conduits, or modify their values.
- Clone a project yourself.
- Share a project with someone else.
- Make a project public to the entire community.
- Generate and view the project report.
- Download the asset inventory linked to that project.
There’s another view, called Shared Projects, where you can see the projects you’ve shared with other users and even add tags to them.
In the next chapter, you will learn how to create a new project.
